Hey everyone. And by everyone, I mean the 2 people who still read this.
As you all (or should I say “both”?) know, this website will be going under in a few days. On July 3, I will stop paying Squarespace the yearly fee to keep it running and it’s gone forever. The only way to read stuff is if you personally copy and paste whatever stuff you want, screenshot stuff, or if you use websites like the wayback machine to find old things.
Thanks to everyone who has read my stuff over the years, everyone that has ever written in and responded to articles randomly, and of course anyone that ever purchased a copy of one of my books over the years. I really appreciate it. Unfortunately, it was not nearly enough to justify keeping this place running, but I thank you nonetheless! It has been a fun time and I hope it meant something to you, not trying to be funny there.
I know the website is literally called “Meaningless,” and I still do believe life is mostly meaningless overall. We’re here for awhile and then we’re dead. But I will say this: I named the website that in my 20s. Almost a decade later after creating this place I have now come to the conclusion that the stuff we do in life does sort of matter and you do have an impact on the world, regardless of if it’s large or small. Sometimes it’s hard to feel like we’re making any lick of a difference in life, but you do ultimately matter. Just because the average person is not a billionaire or a famous person making headlines, that doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t have an impact. Sometimes impact can just mean what you do for your friends or your family or your cat or whatever. An act of service is still an act nonetheless. Crazy things have happened and small stuff has led to mattering on a grand scale, so you really never know how much of an effect you’re having on the world. I think going about the world believing that everything is pointless is kind of a psyop by those in power, a forced conditioning and mentality these types want you to believe so you don’t ever shake up the world too much. Now, of course, I don’t wanna get too sappy here: I still think life is meaningless. We all die and blahblahblah. But what I guess I’m saying is the average person still matters more than they think. I have been surprised by the amount of people that wrote in and bought my stuff over the years. In particular, people will buy Absolute Anhedonia and randomly reach out to me on Instagram about it and it’s always a nice surprise to hear from people who relate.
Anyway, thanks again to anyone that ever read my shit and thanks for making me feel like I was more important than I was. You can feel free to follow me on the various social media channels I’ve already linked to in case you want an update from me regarding any writing related things in the future — who knows, if I am possessed by the writing spirit I may put something out again at some point. You can also always buy a copy of one of my books on Amazon at any point if you so desire.
PEACE & LOVE
